Michael Pisano, Ph.D.
President, Co-Founder
Dr. Pisano has many years experience in protein biochemistry including more than 11 years in the pharmaceutical industry. His expertise includes protein separations, protein characterization, electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry. Dr. Pisano has managed laboratory research groups within the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of protein production and proteomics since 1996. Positions he has held in the pharmaceutical industry include Group Leader, Proteomics and Protein Production, Dept. of Biotechnology, Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals; Head, Protein Sciences, Dept. of Biotechnology Aventis Pharmaceuticals; Vice-President Proteomic R&D, Genomic Solutions, Inc. In addition, Dr. Pisano serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of several life sciences companies and instrumentation manufacturers. Dr. Pisano is one of the founders of PRS (2001).
Ravi Amunugama, Ph. D.
Senior Protein Mass Spectrometrist
Dr. Amunugama received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 2002. Dr. Amunugama served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Chemistry Department of Chemistry at Purdue University, Indiana for 2 years. His research focused on protein mass spectrometry. Dr. Amunugama started his industrial career as a Scientist / Protein mass spectrometrist at Proteomic Research Services, Inc. in March 2004. Dr. Amunugama has more than three years of experience in both “top-down” and “bottom-up” mass spectrometry based proteomics. Dr Amunugama joined PRS in 2004.
David Allen, B.S.
Scientist, Mass Spectrometry
Mr. Allen received his B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from Texas A&M University in 1994. Mr. Allen has approximately 14 years of experience in the areas of molecular biology and biochemistry holding positions in academic, industrial and government sectors. These include Lab Supervisor at Texas A&M University, Research Scientist at Energy Biosystems Inc., Biochemical Lab Tech Supervisor (Level 6) at Los Alamos National Laboratories, Staff Scientist at Genomic Solutions, Inc. and Research Associate at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. Mr. Allen’s proficiencies include molecular biology, biochemistry and protein mass spectrometry (MALDI and LC/MS/MS). Mr. Allen joined PRS in 2003.
